As the sun starts to set, Maimi’s furiously waiting on the rooftop. Waiting is something that Maimi hates.
MAIMI: Where’s that Takaki?! I’ve been waiting for hours! Is he planning to make me wait until midnight?!
As impatience started to dominate on Maimi, she decided to leave. As she was about to open the door, Takaki opened it just in time. As she stared at him, she kept a face that Takaki usually sees whenever he’s late.
TAKAKI: *huffs* Sorry I’m late
MAIMI: Sorry? That’s all??? I waited for hours and that’s all you can come up with? Hmph! *rolls eyes*
TAKAKI: Come on. You knew the band had to practice for prom.
Maimi shook Takaki off and ran down the stairs. He ran after her and called her name a number of times, yet she didn’t stop. Finally, Takaki managed to reach her and stop her from running away.
TAKAKI: Maimi–
MAIMI: If you knew you would be running late then why did you ask me to wait for you that early? You could’ve just told me what time you would finish so I wouldn’t have to wait. Did I ever make you wait?
TAKAKI: No–
MAIMI: Well then why? You always make me wait for hours but you never heard me say I hate you for that. Don’t you care about me anymore?
TAKAKI: I do. I just–
MAIM: If you do, why do you keep doing these things to me? Is this some kind of a joke? I get it. Are you doing these things to me to make me give up on you and tell you that we need to break up? If you don’t want this relationship anymore just come and say it to my face!
Takaki loosened hi grip on the girl’s wrist as he pulled her in for a hug. Maimi’s tears started to run down her face.
TAKAKI: *whispers* Do you really need to exaggerate things? Okay, I’m sorry I’m late. I swear I would never make you wait again.
MAIMI: Gosh, I’ve been hearing that a couple of times already.
TAKAKI: Look Maimi. I think I don’t ever want to stop loving you. So what you were saying about me not wanting this relationship anymore is trash, okay? I don’t want you ever leave my side. I don’t think I can live with that. You know how mush I love you.
MAIMI: Why do you always say these pretty words every time we fight? You are the only person who makes me fall in love again every time we fight.
Takaki held Maimi’s hand and spun her around. She smiled and they both laughed.
TAKAKI: So will you come to the prom with me, my princess?
MAIMI: Of course, my prince.
TAKAKI: I love you, Yajima Maim.. Ahh… I meant Takaki Maimi..
MAIMI: I love you, too.
Maimi’s expression made Takaki want to kiss her. As Maimi leaned towards him, he held her closer and tighter.
As their lips touched, shivers ran down Takaki’s spine.
KOTA: Oy Takaki!!!!!!!
DAIKI: He can’t hear you Kota-kun.
KOTA: Oy Takaki!! You’re not the only one who’s hot, okay?! Don’t keep the aircon to yourself, please?!
DAIKI: Hmmm… Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Takaki-kun’s daydreaming about Maimi-chan again. Don’t forget, she’s already got Hikaru-kun.
TAKAKI: I know.. *sighs*

Warning: This fanfic is somehow anti-Mariya Nishiuchi. So if you don’t want to be offended please refrain from reading this. I have nothing against Mariya though. I actually like her. Anyways, enjoy!
As the bell rang, Mirai dashed out of the room and went to get her bike. As she was to ride her bike and get out of the campus, she saw a familiar silhouette of a guy standing by the gate. “Just when I thought I could move on,” Mirai mumbled. She jumped on her bike and rushed out of the campus as quick as she can. “Mirai! Mirai! Wait! I just want to say something!” Ryosuke shouted. But Mirai just ignored him.
When she got home, she hurriedly went to her room. Mirai couldn’t help but cry when she heard his voice. “Damn that Ryosuke! Always making me cry! I even transferred school so that I could forget about that two-faced asshole!” She cried so hard that she didn’t notice her phone vibrating.
When Mirai finally calmed down, she decided to text her dear friend Ogamana. When she opened her phone, there were 5 missed calls and all of them came from Ogamana. Worried, she called her. She began to worry more and more because she isn’t picking up. When Ogamana finally answered, Mirai cried out, “Ogamana! What’s wrong? Are you okay?” Ogamana on the other hand laughed so hard. “What’s wrong? Why are you laughing?” Mirai asked. “Hush girl, nothing’s wrong with me,” Ogamana answered in a carefree tone. “Then what’s the meaning of these missed calls?” There was silence on both sides.
Ogamana took a deep breath and said, “Ryosuke called me. He asked me to talk you into meeting up with him. He wants to tell you something. Mirai dear, why won’t you hear his side? Give him the cha –“
“No! I would NEVER meet with him! I don’t want to see that Ryosuke anymore!” Tears flowed down Mirai’s face. Ogamana wanted to apologize and comfort her, but Mirai hung up. Feeling guilty, she sent Ogamana a message saying:
I’m sorry girl. Sorry for taking it out on you. I just don’t want to see that guy anymore. I don’t want o add more to the pain that I’m feeling. I hope you could understand.
The next day, Ryosuke waited by the gate again, hoping Mirai would talk to him. But still, she ignored him. However, he didn’t lose hope and waited for a couple more days. One day, while riding her bike, Mirai ran over a bunch of sharp rocks, causing her bike to be damaged. She had no choice but to bring it home and to ask her dad to fix it.
The next day, still not having her bike, Mirai didn’t have a choice but to walk all the way home. As she approached the gate, Ryosuke was there, waiting for her. She wanted to run but her legs won’t let her. As she got nearer, Ryosuke said, “Mirai, please hear me out. Please?” But Mirai ignored him. She didn’t even look at his face.
“Mirai! It’s fine if you won’t look at me but please listen! I’m not going out with Mariya. This bracelet she gave me really meant nothing to me! I don’t care whatever she meant by it! You’re the only one I care about, Mirai! Believe me! Please?” As Ryosuke screamed those words at her, she could hear his tears between every word. Mirai couldn’t handle walking away farther Ryosuke anymore.
Deep inside, she wanted to run to him and hug him. But her pride won’t let her. She stopped walking prevented her tears from falling down. Unknowingly, Ryosuke ran to her and hugged her. Even after preventing her tears, Ryosuke’s hug is somewhat like a switch to her, allowing her tears to flow. The moment Mirai’s tears touched Ryosuke’s skin, he cried as well.
Mirai turned to Ryosuke and wiped his tears saying, “Are we promoting a new drama? People are staring Ryosuke.” He stared at her and said, “Watch all they want, I wouldn’t care.” They smiled at each other, and then Ryosuke turned to the people watching and said, “Everyone! This is my one and only love. My girlfriend, Mirai Shida.” Mirai tried to stop him but he just wouldn’t listen. Ryosuke looked Mirai in the eye and said, “Want me to walk you home?” Mirai smiled and nodded.
The two held hands and started walking. “I missed us like this,” Mirai said, holding his hand tighter. Ryosuke dropped Mirai’s hand and held her by the waist. “This is much better,” he said, holding her closer to him.
When they arrived at Mirai’s house, her parents are by the car, ready to leave. Mirai rushed over to her mom and asked, “Where are you going mom?” Her mom smiled at her and said, “I’m off to work honey and your dad would go to his friend to fix your back.” Her mom asked her to come closer and said, “Honey, I thought things are over between you and Ryosuke?” Mirai giggled and said, “Mom, we just fought. Everything’s okay now.” Convinced, her mom turned to Ryosuke and said, “Take care of Mirai while we’re gone would you?” Ryosuke bowed and said, “Yes Mrs. Shida, I will take care of her.” Mirai’s parents went on after saying goodbye.
Mirai and Ryosuke went inside and then Mirai heated dinner saying, “They said they’d be home late. Want to eat dinner with me?” Ryosuke went over to her and hugged her saying, “I could sleep here if you want.” Mirai laughed and said, “You know me, Ryosuke. You know that I wouldn’t let us do the things that we would both regret.”
After eating dinner, they both went to Mirai’s room and Ryosuke helped her in her assignments. After finishing them all, Ryosuke starts to feel bored. Distracted by Mirai’s silence, she asked, “What shall we do now?” Mirai faced him and said, “I don’t know.” They stared at each other. Ryosuke felt that he should kiss Mirai.
He lifted his hand and held Mirai’s face. He caressed her cheeks and leaned closer. Mirai could feel Ryosuke’s breath on her skin. Mirai couldn’t help but say, “You know your limits Ryosuke.” Then she closed her eyes.
Ryosuke began kissing Mirai, but he paused and said, “I know baby. But I get carried away every time your lips touch mine.” He continued to kiss her and held Mirai’s hand tighter. But Mirai let go of his hand and grabbed him by the hair. She pulled him in closer and closer causing them to fall down. Ryosuke felt uncomfortable so he held Mirai and stood up. Ryosuke led her to the bed, but she resisted. They stopped and Ryosuke said, “What’s wrong baby?” Mirai looked at him and said, “I’m not doing it Ryosuke, I told you.”
They sat down on Mirai’s bed and silence dominated on both of them. Ryosuke felt guilty so he stood up and said, “I’m sorry Mirai. I didn’t want to force you.” Mirai stood up and kissed him. “It’s okay, baby.” She caressed his cheeks and smiled.
“Honey?”
They were both surprised when Mirai’s mom entered the room. “Did I interrupt something?” Her mom asked. The two laughed and Mirai said, “No mom, we were just talking.” The two laughed and smiled at Mirai’s mom.
“I think I should go,” Ryosuke said. He bid Mirai and her mom goodbye and went home.
On the way home, Ryosuke couldn’t help but mumble, “Whew! That was close.” Then he smiled as if he was the happiest man on earth.
